ART - HeliFlight-R

Overview

The HeliFlight-M is a flexible simulator architecture that provides modular crew stations that can be interchanged within a  single simulator complex. The crew station is mounted on rails and can readily be moved in/out of the simulator complex. The HeliFlight-M can support multiple aircraft types such as the UH-60, CH-47, OH-58, and AH-64. Each aircraft type features an aircraft specific crew station that is an exact replica of the actual aircraft cockpit. The HeliFlight-M can support a change from one aircraft type to another within 30 minutes. The  HeliFlight-M  has been designed to use ART's high fidelity FLIGHTLAB Flight Dynamics Models and our SIMphony run-time infrastructure. Each aircraft flight model can be certified to FAA Level D. A 20 foot Carbon Fiber dome provides a 210 degree by 90 degree field of view with High Definition video resolution. Four-axis control loaders with linkages to pilot and copilot controls provide programmable force feel and the ability to backdrive the controls for trim and autopilot functionality. The HeliFlight-M has been designed to satisfy various training goals including procedure training, full flight training, and tactical training. The simulator has also been designed for Distributed Mission Operations and fully supports the Higher Level Architecture (HLA), which has become the U.S. Military standard for distributed simulation. The Image Generation system provided with HeliFlight-M will run data bases that have been developed in the industry standard OpenFlight format. ART can provide custom data bases as required or data base modeling and editing tools can be provided to allow the Buyer to generate their own data bases. The editing tools include the ability to generate any required geospecific airport.
