Project 8: Waypoint Following

Summary of Services Performed: Design and testing of a trajectory following autonomous control system for a UAV

ART was awarded a contract by ARI to develop and implement a trajectory following algorithm for an autonomous aircraft. The main goal of the project was to develop an autonomous navigation algorithm that commands the aircraft to follow a sequence of waypoints. The navigation algorithm was designed to generate command inputs for the existing controller. The navigation algorithm includes roll, pitch, and throttle commands. ART developed the algorithm and the code and integrated to a simulation of the aircraft. The simulation tested from many input scenarios and delivered to ARI. The effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm and the code were verifies by the completion of successful flight tests.
